Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer was recently interviewed by the “What’s on Your Plate?” project, a documentary about kids and food politics. In the documentary, Stinger talks about the growth of greenmarkets in Northern Manhattan, the Go Green East Harlem cookbook, and ways that the New York City food system can be improved.
The film, which debuts nationally on Discovery’s Planet Green TV channel on February 7th at 2 p.m., follows two eleven-year old kids, Sadie and Safiyah, as they explore their place in the food chain. (Click here to find your local Planet Green channel )
Directed by award-winning director Catherine Gund, the girls talk to food activists, farmers, lawmakers, business owners, and families in New York City about food systems.The film will also be broadcast at the following times:
