Borough President Scott Stringer, held his Third Annual Haitian Independence Day Tribute. Taking place after the earthquake in Haiti, Borough President Stringer noted that the event has taken “on particular significance…as neighbors across the city reach out in support of the thousands of New Yorkers with family back home in Haiti.” The event, co-hosted by the Haitian Roundtable and Caribbean News, recognized and honored the efforts of Joel Dreyfuss, Dr. Lesly Kernisant (founder of SIMCAT), Geraldine Méhu, and Ninaj Raoul, four leading Haitian Americans New Yorkers.
