  • On April 23, 2010, Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer released a statement in response to the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation's decision to exclude New York City's watershed from its pending environmental review process. Click here to read the full statement.
  • In April 2010, Borough President Stringer submitted written comments to the Environmental Protection Agency's Scientific Advisory Board for their study on hydraulic fracturing and drinking water.

  • On December 22, 2009 Manhattan Borough President Scott M. This hearing at Stuyvesant High School was the only one of its kind to be held in New York City on the topic of natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale, a rock formation stretching across the Southern Tier of New York State.
